Verse of the Day

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:7 Listen to chapter Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica. Powered by

Combined Federal Campaign

Thank you!

The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) is the local campaign for Federal employees in the Washington Metropolitan Area.  Recently, Embrace Loudoun, became an approved charity.

If you are a civilian or military Federal employee, the campaign is starting September 1st. We ask that you prayerfully consider designating #20245 to impact our immediate local community.  Last year more than $61 million in pledges were made for participating local, national and international charities!

Embrace Loudoun uses donations to help our neighbors who are experiencing crises.  Individuals and families are referred by partnering schools, homeless shelters, other non-profits and churches.  Such referrals assure us that the needs are real and the neighbors we are helping are willing to fully participate in resolving their own problems.  We then match the neighbors with advocates who help them develop an action plan.  Where necessary, we help to mobilize needed resources through the loving hearts and guiding hands of our advocates.  Once the crises are resolved, our advocates remain involved to help our neighbors prosper.  They guide the discovery of solutions to the underlying causes of chronic problems and help the neighbors become stronger than their pre-crisis positions.

Often, the neighbors we help are single moms with children.  They have little margin in their lives for health, employment, housing or transportation problems.  When these occur, they and their children face significant physical and emotional hardships and spiritual needs.  Some ways we have helped recently include providing or directing to sources for food, finding temporary safe shelter and permanent housing, fixing vehicles needed to stay employed, assisting with immigration and naturalization processes, finding employment, facilitating healthcare, linking donors of furniture and other household items to those in need, etc.  We also have served neighbors who have experienced the debilitating and frightening effects of domestic abuse, alcoholism, incarceration, mental health issues, physical disabilities and unplanned pregnancies.

These issues cannot be solely addressed through programs, but rather, through caring relationships of our advocates who are adequately resourced by your donations to CFC #20245, Embrace Loudoun!  Please consider us and tell your family, friends and co-workers how they may join our mission to serve our community.
