Outcomes

Embrace Loudoun focuses on issues such as homelessness, hunger, education, aging, health, family life and human rights and operates without discrimination on who may be served.  The following characterizes the outcomes we seek:
  • Engaging: Exploring the community and its needs to discover the best ways to serve and become a valued part of the life of the community.
  • Mobilizing: Raising teams of people from churches, businesses, government, schools, non-profits and civic organizations to collaborate together to help people thrive.
  • Blessing: Demonstrating love for those in the community by meeting the needs and addressing underlying causes of the community’s challenges.
  • Relating: Building life-on-life relationships as people become more deeply connected through the intersections of their lives.
  • Affirming truth: Communicating truth by word and actions to adults with whom we have built relationships of caring and trust.
  • Changing lives: Seeing lives transformed educationally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Expecting: Anticipating that God will multiply our efforts and will cultivate our personal growth and relationships as we serve.

Our means are dependence on prayer, humility of spirit, peers sharpening each other for growth, sharing best-practices and mobilizing the collective resources of the community.

Operational Principles

Embrace Loudoun operates based upon the following principles:

  • Targeted Mission – We believe that we are called to assure that the members of our local community are thriving educationally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Authentic Accountability – We believe that accomplishing our vision requires that we hold one another accountable to our portion in the mission.
  • Community Learning – We believe that in order to be effective in impacting our community, we must learn from one another. We seek wisdom on how we and our partnering organizations should grow and adapt toward this end. Our learning happens best in community while on mission, and we value time spent with one another as we diligently seek best practices in our context.
  • Creative Collaboration – We believe that to be successful, we must collaborate together through empowering partnerships that network people and organizations together for expanded impact. Our collaboration includes shared training and resources, common initiatives and events, working shoulder-to-shoulder within common community contexts and celebration together.
